LINK UP PROGRAM
Link Up is a music education program of the Carnegie Hall Weill Music Institute music education program.
The program provides students from grades 3 to 5 with hands-on music curriculum and culminates with an interactive concert.
During the school year students learn about music by studying symphonic works, listening to music, singing, playing the recorder and composing music.
At the end of the year students come together with a local orchestra to sing and play recorders along with the orchestra from their seats.
This past year students also performed some choreographed movements at their seats.
LOCAL SPONSOR
This year the Lansing Symphony Orchestra (LSO) is proud to partner for the second year with Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute to offer Link Up. This year the theme is "The Orchestra Sings."
WHO: The Young People's Concert is open to all public, private, and home school students who are 3-5 graders throughout the region.
COST: Registration is once again $2 per student for participation and an additional $3 if you would like to order recorders for your students. Scholarships are available.
Students and teachers participating in Link Up receive recorders and workbooks that explore orchestral repertoire through a hands-on curriculum.
