ABRAMS PLANETARIUM
Home School Days for the 2013-2014 School Year
If you are a home schooler and would like to visit the Abrams Planetarium, here are some dates and times we've scheduled for you to visit. We've set aside the 3rd Thursday of the month for the 2013/2014 school year. (4th Thursday for October). Custom field trips are also available.
TIME: Tickets will be sold at the ticket window starting at 1:00 p.m. Showtimes are at 1:30 p.m. There will be no late seating.
COST: Tickets are $2.00 per person. Checks are preferred, however cash is also accepted. (Need cash or checks)

For group reservations or additional information call the planetarium at (517) 355-4676 weekdays, 8:30 A.M. to noon or 1 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. only.
PARKING:
Parking can be difficult on the MSU campus on weekdays. It takes some advance planning to guarantee a parking spot!!! And you will need coins or cash unless buying a permit.
Here are the options in order of closest (least likely to be available) to furthest away (most reliable).
Option #1 - Close by not at all likely (Meter - Need coins)
There is no parking in the lot 41 in front of the planetarium. That lot is for faculty and staff only. There are a few metered spots but those fill up fast and are not likely to be available. If you need handicapped parking please contact the office at 517-355-4676 to find the location of those spots.)
Option #2a - Shaw Parking Ramp meters (Need coins for the limited meter parking)
Visitor parking is available in Shaw Ramp 1 near the planetarium. There area few metered spots there and they may fill up quickly as well. If those spots are full see option 2b.
Option #2b - Shaw Parking Ramp non-metered spaces (Need pre-purchased parking passes)
To park in the non-metered spots in Shaw Ramp 1 you will need a visitor's pass which can be purchased at the Department of Police and Public Safety (DPPS) office 24/7. The 2 hour passes are $1.50. DPPS are located at 1120 Red Cedar Rd, East Lansing, MI 48824. You can buy several passes at once to use for the entire year. See map to DPPS.
Option #3 - Wharton Parking Ramp (Need cash to pay attendant)
You can park in Ramp 3 by the Wharton center for $0.40 per half hour. When exiting the lot, a booth attendant will accept cash payment for the time parked. ** Credit/debit card payments are not accepted.**

Free Tours of MSU Farms
Visitors are welcome to visit the many farms on the south side of MSU's campus between Mount Hope and Jolly Roads. MSU is home to many animals including sheep, cows, horses, swine, cattle and chickens. Milking procedures can be observed every afternoon.
No appointments needed:
These locations are open daily between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free and there are informational signs and trails marked for self-guided tours: (Click on link for description and location.)
