Abrams Planetarium Shows for Home School Days
DATE: Thursday, February 20, 2014
TIME: Tickets will be sold at the ticket window starting at 1:00 p.m. Showtimes are at 1:30 p.m. There will be no late seating.
SHOW: Follow the Drinking Gourd
(Recommended for younger students)
The story of how a slave family escaped to freedom using the Underground Railroad and the stars of the Drinking Gourd (The Big Dipper). A live star talk ending with a question and answer session follows the recorded portion of the show.

COST: Tickets are $2.00 per person. Checks are preferred, however cash is also accepted. Please note that we do not accept credit or debit cards.
LOCATION: MSU Abrams Planetarium, 755 Science Rd East Lansing, MI 48824 (see map: )
PARKING: Parking can be difficult on the MSU campus on weekdays. It takes some advance planning to guarantee a parking spot!!! And you will need coins or cash unless buying a permit.
Option #1 - Close but unlikley!
There is **no** parking in the lot 41 in front of the planetarium. That lot is for faculty and staff only. There are a few metered spots but those fill up fast.
Option #2 - Next closest, but need luck or passes
Visitor parking is available in Shaw Ramp 1. There area few metered spots there and they may fill up quickly as well.
To park in the non-metered spots in Ramp 1 you will need a visitor's pass which can be purchased at the DPPS office 24/7. The 2 hour passes are $1.50. They are located at 1120 Red Cedar Rd, East Lansing, MI 48824. You can buy several passes at once to use for the entire year. See map: http://maps.msu.edu/interactive/index.php?location=ps
Option #3 - Reliable but will be a bit of a walk
You can park in Ramp 3 by the Wharton center for $0.40 per half hour. When exiting the lot, a booth attendant will accept cash payment for the time parked. ** Credit/debit card payments are not accepted.**
